Making the most of your family’s spring break

March is here and that means many families will be heading out with high expectations for a great time at the beach, the mountains or Grandma and Grandpa’s house. Although family travel can be a lot of fun, it also can be stressful and disappointing. But a little thoughtful planning will make things go more smoothly for kids and parents alike.

Marti shared these tried and true tips with KARE 11 News at 11’s Zachery Lashway:

1) Be physically prepared

2) Set clear and realistic rules before you begin

3) Mark the passing of time by breaking it into “chewable chunks”

4) Do less, enjoy more

5) Try a STAYcation in your own hometown!
